Interesting Baseball Facts (Maybe?)

  • First Baseball Game: Boston Red Sox @ Texas Rangers, 1991
  • Memorable Game #1: Seattle Mariners @ Texas Rangers, 1992 - Fan appreciation day; Nolan Ryan started the game for the Rangers, Randy Johnson, for the Mariners. Johnson had 18 strikeouts that day, but the Rangers won, 3-2.
  • Memorable Game #2: Auburn @ North Carolina, June 10, 2019 - Game 3 of the Chapel Hill Super-Regional, where the winner moved on to play in the College World Series. Auburn scored an unprecedented 13 runs in the first inning, and held on to win, 14-7, to advance to their first CWS in 22 years.
  • Memorable Game #3: 2017 College World Series. The whole event was awesome. Florida swept LSU in the championship series to win their first NCAA title in baseball.
  • Memorable Game #4: Cubs at Padres, May 29, 2017 - My first game in San Diego; Hunter Renfroe hit a go-ahead grand slam to beat the Cubs.
  • I got to see many of the Cubs who came up in the minors to The Show and help the team win the 2016 World Series.

Other Random Facts...

  • Prior to 2008, I had never been in/visited Virginia.
  • The farthest West I've been is Seattle, followed by Anaheim, CA, and San Diego. All of these trips occurred in 2017.
  • I shared a car ride with astronaut Millie Hughes-Fulford, whose husband tried to convince me to apply to the United States Air Force Academy.
